YouTube Down, Snapchat Down: 5 Reasons Email and Website Still Matter

posted in: Uncategorized | 2

YouTube and Snapchat are down right now. YouTube is the second largest search engine (and a social media). It also magnifies a downside of social media: you don’t own it. This is one reason why you should have your own website and email provider.

Here are 5 reasons why email and website matter.

You don’t own social media.

You don’t own YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, etc. (I can go on and on but you get my point.). You would own email and website.

You can control your message

Email and website are ways to control your message. You can send out emails regardless of what social media is doing.

Sidenote: I emailed my list while YouTube and Snapchat are down and my subscribers received my message. My website is still up and running too.

Email has a higher return on investment (ROI) then social media.

Email marketing still has the best ROI of any type of medium including social media. Yes, YouTube is the second largest search engine owned by Google, the largest search engine, but email still is the best way to get the most bang for your buck.

People who subscribe are interested in your message (i.e. buy your products and services)

Email subscribers are interested in your message so much that they have given you their email addresses. This means that they are interested in buying your products and services. Subscribers are warm buyers because they have taken a step towards deepening their connections with you.

You look professional.

A website and email system make you look more professional. Think of it this way: people like working with people who have systems. Having these two things mean that you are serious about the products and services that you provide.

These are my 5 reasons why email and website still matter in the sea of social media apps.
